PUZZLE

There is a term, a word, for people that miss that one piece. For people that would be complete if there had all the pieces, but for some reason or the other, usually linked to their early years, something went wrong and they are missing some parts.

They go on living, they live pretty successfully. Their mind is producing a world for them where everything fits in its right place. There are no missing pieces. But they can’t shake the filling that the world doesn’t react to them in a way they expect it to. There are always some comments and questions that feel misplaced. “What book are you talking about? You wrote a book?” , “Well, yeah, I mean a final thesis. A book in French.”

That is not a book

They are usually surprised by being the smartest person in the room. “The idiot doesn’t know how to use google.meets how is he going to write on google.drive?!”

They refer to their colleagues and subordinates as friends. While at the same time “Don’t mind him, he is just a bit demanding. What I do, is try to respond to his messages as soon as possible, and then I take the time to actually do the work. Don’t worry, he just wants immediate reaction. You need to react immediately, but then he forgets.”

I still cannot remember the word. They seam like normal people, polite even, on occasions, but then, from time to time, they succumb to this mundane cruelty towards others that shows, they are missing a piece.

It is not a faulty human. Definitely not a crooked human being. He just has this missing piece, that empty space, that doesn’t allow him to see things in a proper way. To see they are no longer a victim. They are now the one omitting the care.

“Hi, I am not able to join the meeting tomorrow. I see you will be attending. I am not needed. You own the project.”
But you organised it, you have to let people in. You have to be present for the first 10-15 minutes.
I do not think that is how google.meets works OK”

During the meeting he was speaking over me. Not letting me say anything. Leading the meeting, and changing the platform for the meeting. I stayed 10-15 minutes.
