“I’ve had my Peter very late in life. I was already 38 years old. I would say that I have had my contribution to the world through him. I did not know I will make the contribution twice, during my life.
I know his liver went to a man in Vienna. About his heart, I only know it went to a girl that had an artificial heart. I do not know who she is, what is her nationality or religion.
…
It has been hard, but it was harder for my husband. Just a year and four months after, he died. He died from a broken heart.
I am still here, comforted by the fact my Peter, his organs, still live in others. I get by, I talk about organ donations, and how it saves lives.
The only thing I still want in life, is to hug that girl that carries my Peter’s heart. I want to hug his heart, still walking on this earth.”
