FEAR

Yesterday I’ve heard that fear can control your life:

‘I was reading about a patient from Freud. From Sigmund Freud.
He was afraid of jumping off a cliff.
Not Sigmund, the patient.
He dreamt about it every night. Had nightmares.
At the end he died.
He jumped off of a cliff.
He has realised his biggest fear.
Isn’t that fascinating?
His whole life was controlled by this fear he had.’

It is all in our minds.

‘I’ve had a friend. We were 14. She had many siblings.
She was a middle child and she struggled with that.
You know middle children, no one notices them.
But she really loved her father. She loved him so much she had a fear of him dying.
She was thinking about it all the time.
She was afraid.
Then he died. He died when we were 14.

We are not friends anymore, but she told me the other day, she thinks she killed her father.
She thinks she killed him by constantly thinking about him dying.
I mean, you cannot kill people like that. Or course. But she believes it.’

I do not get people that do not believe in Astrology.

‘It is because you have this small excerpts in newspapers how
today is the day you will meet the love of your life and loose your purse
but I don’t know, the real astrology, really made sense for my life so far.’

‘C’mon, people believe in god. Whatever god. A dude that is a creator of everything and everyone. It is weirder than astrology. You know how moon affects the tides and the level of water in our bodies? Well, that is a mini astrological proof. And if you believe it, I mean placebo even, if you believe it, it can cure you?’

‘Oh, the moon. I have horrible nightmares when it is full moon and then I wake up, and check, and it is always full moon.’

‘I really like the explanation from this philosopher:
I believe in it because it cannot be proven.
